Westboro Church Update on BBC

right now there is a documentary on the bbc about louis theroux' second visit to the infamous phelps family.

it's a follow up to a similar documentary four years ago.. a considerable number of members have left in the last few years while the cult has become even more extreme.

louis has just interviewed young woman who has got out and started nursing.

That girl (Lauren) who got out has to have one of the biggest pricks ever as a father. That documentary was infuriating.

there's a part in the documentary where they claim that if they ever left this country they would go live in Jerusalem to teach 144,000 repentant Jews. I laughed my arse off at that one! Yeah okay, I would rip off my own arms and sell them for a chance to see those turds try those stunts over in modern day Jerusalem. Not sure if they've been keeping up with the news lately, but that area isn't the most tolerant place on earth.....

I'd like to see them get the courage to tell this guy that he's gonna burn in hellfire....

then again, perhaps they would finally bring peace to the middle east..... think about it. finally, something the Israelis and Palastinians can agree on... mutual hatred of religious "Christian" hatemongers!

I think what bothers me the most is regards to the excommunication of those who have left. The reactions of those who have left and of those who have remained towards each other is giving me a bit of an ugly feeling deep down.....

Your wedding day belongs to the elders

getting married means you get your own special day.

a day where the couple getting married gets to call the shots and decide who is gonna be invited, who is gonna be the maid of honor, who is gonna be the best man, how you want everything to look and what music you want to play.....unless of course you're a j-dub.. i got married last year, and no matter how hard i tried, i couldn't decide anything on that day.

i have an amazing friend who has always been there for me and my family.

I refused to walk down the aisle to "Marriage is Gods Arrangement" or "Shulammite Maiden" or "Loyal Love". I wanted music that actually meant something to me--so I chose the Enya song from the first Lord of the Rings movie.

What was your most embarassing WTF experience with a fanatical witness??

we've all known those fanatical witnesses who are guilty of pdf (public display of faith) and always have to make a big song and dance to the whole world and let everyone and their dog know they're a faithful witness of jay hoover!.

1) when my mother first came in 'da troooof' this wacky, over zealous 'sister' was studying with her - you know the type.

this woman was one of those not so subtle individuals who would always talk loud in conversation and say the name jehovah a million times even when the conversation could have been about basketball.

I wish to God Almighty that I could say that story isn't true. Mortifying. Madame Falcon still cringes when I bring it up.

Madame Falcon is ACTIVELY GIVING BIRTH to a baby Falcon (or fledgling, if you will). She's pushing and breathing heavy, while me and the nurses are trying to coach her. Well, my over-zealous mother was in the room, sitting in the corner the whole time. She see the pain that Madame Falcon is enduring and proceeds to stand up and shout "TRUST IN JEHOVAH!!!!!!!!!!". Me, the nurses, and Madame Falcon all stop and look at her.

I'll give you a moment to let that sink in.
